My MenoJourney Story

I had my 2 children quite late and so they were 13 and 16 when I realised I was in perimenopause. It was a nightmare, 2 teenagers and me in emotional turmoil I don't know how we didn't kill one another. I went to the Doctor for help when a neighbour asked me if I was alright because he had heard us screaming at one another the night before - he lives opposite us! My GP was really nice and she started me on HRT which really helped settle me down emotionally. I also have one night a week when I shut the bedroom door and let the kids stay with their grandparents and I do nothing but read and relax. I really look forward to it and I call it my life raft day. I also meet up with friends on Saturday mornings and we go for a walk or have coffee if the weather is bad. We have a right old moan and a good laugh. It's better than therapy.
